e-Zinc Opens Pilot Manufacturing Facility in Mississauga, ON

e-Zinc’s recently opened 42,000 sqft. pilot manufacturing facility will be used to deploy commercial pilot projects of its long-duration energy storage system

MISSISSAUGA — e-Zinc, the company enabling sustainable, long-duration energy storage with its zinc-air battery, has officially opened the doors to its new 42,000 sqft. pilot manufacturing facility in Mississauga, Ontario. The facility, located at 7391 Pacific Circle in the Mississauga-Malton district, will both serve as e-Zinc’s Canadian headquarters, housing core Operations, Engineering, and R&D staff, and additionally will be used to deploy e-Zinc’s next several commercial pilot projects of its long-duration energy storage system. e-Zinc is now set up to deliver demonstration projects with the California Energy Commission and Toyota Tsusho Canada, Inc. with the capacity of the Pacific Circle facility.

 

e-Zinc held an Opening Ceremony on October 23, 2024, to celebrate this major milestone, welcoming over 100 partners including shareholders, government officials, suppliers, investors, advisors, industry partners, customers, and more. The event was a resounding success, featuring remarks from James Larsen, e-Zinc CEO; Robert van Beers, e-Zinc Chair of the Board; Rudy Cuzzetto, MPP Mississauga-Lakeshore and Parliamentary Assistant to the Ontario Minister of Energy; and Ken Savidis, Dunpar Commercial Project Manager and General Contractor for the Pacific Circle facility. The event was capped by a facility tour and reception for guests. e-Zinc additionally welcomed employee family and friends to complete the grand opening.

 

e-Zinc expects the Pacific Circle facility to create dozens of jobs as e-Zinc begins to manufacture pilot demonstration systems and create replicable assembly lines which can be translated into scale manufacturing facilities. The facility’s location in Mississauga was a specific choice due to proximity to critical suppliers, transportation hubs, and a skilled workforce that will ai e-Zinc’s growth towards commercialization.
